The construction of the new facility on the north side of the Dubai International Airport has begun. Once completed, the facility will have eight hangars and will form the largest free-spanned structures in the Middle East. The facility will service Emirates existing fleet and 99 aircraft presently on order and will also accommodate third party maintenance. Construction is scheduled for completion in early 2008 and will contain hangars for heavy and light maintenance, a paint hangar and each hangar will feature an entrance gate the can even accommodate the
Airbus A380.
