DA42NG Receives EASA Type Certificate

Diamond Aircraft has obtained an EASA type certificate for its DA42NG, which is a modified DA42 with an Austro Engine AE-300. The company claims improved performance, higher gross weight and better fuel efficiency with the upgraded engine. Diamond says that 40 airframes are already in production and plans to begin deliveries soon. “We will shortly be announcing the details of an all inclusive maintenance program that will ensure a superior level of support as we work to extend the TBO of the engine from 1,000 to 2,000 hours,” says Christian Dries, Diamond’s CEO.
