Construction Starts on GKN Site

GKN Aerospace has broken ground on a new manufacturing facility in Bristol, England. The complex will serve as a key element of GKN-Filton, site of a composite aircraft wing structures complex. Known as Filton West, the new facility will feature an automated composites manufacturing operation, producing wing spars and trailing edge assemblies for the Airbus A350 XWB beginning in January 2010. The new site will create up to 250 jobs over the next 10 years.
