Component MRO Facility Planned in Bahrain

Gulf Aviation Technology (GAT) has announced plans to build an 8,000-square-meter (86,111-square-foot) component overhaul complex at the Bahrain Intl Investment Park. Scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of 2009, the facility will offer maintenance for operators of Airbus and Boeing aircraft in the Middle East and India. GAT Chief Executive Abdulhakim Allawy says the company will bring a “fresh perspective” to component MRO for carriers based in the region.
