CSC Will Provide Maintenance for Vance

Vance Air Force Base awarded Computer Sciences Corp. (CSC) with a $482-million contract for a six-month base period and six one-year options. CSC will provide aircraft maintenance and base operating services to support the mission-critical requirements of the 71st Flying Training Wing at Vance AFB. These requirements include most of the AFB’s functions. CSC will also maintain the T-6, T-38 and T-1A aircraft and associated support equipment at the base. The new contract replaces a seven-year, $393-million deal that was awarded in July 2000. At that time, DynCorp (purchased by CSC in 2002 for $950 million) acquired the contract from long-standing contractor Northrop Grumman. Grumman appealed that decision, but the GAO upheld it.
