Waco, Texas-based Blackhawk Modifications has introduced a Pratt & Whitney PT6A-42A engine upgrade program for the Cessna Grand Caravan. The 850-shp engine will increase the Grand Caravan’s power by 175 shp in all phases of flight, according to Blackhawk. Other features include higher climb rate using half the fuel, faster max cruise speeds and shorter takeoff distances. Blackhawk anticipates certification of the upgrade in the fourth quarter of 2009.
