Aviall to Distribute JT9D Parts

Dallas, Texas-based Aviall Services has secured a distribution agreement to supply Pratt & Whitey JT9D spare parts to operators around the world. By having Aviall provide OEM parts, Pratt & Whitney will be able to enhance its offerings “while simultaneously managing our inventory and supply chain more effectively,” says Todd Kallman, president of P&W commercial engines. The JT9D — made from 1969 through 1990 — powers Boeing 747/767s, Airbus A300/A310s and McDonnell Douglas DC-10s. There are currently more than 1,200 JT9Ds installed worldwide.
