American Mechanics Receive Taylor Award

FAA is giving its Charles Taylor Master Mechanic award to seven American Airlines employees. The award honors mechanics that have worked in the industry for 50 or more years with 30-plus years as an A&P. Robert Kreider, Charles Lewis, Max Murray and the late J.C. Carrol from American’s Kansas City base are being honored, as well as Jim Hyder, Russ Law and Ray Wisner from the facility in Tulsa, Okla. Carmine Romano, senior vice president of maintenance and engineering, notes that “the dedication of these men shows that, once aviation gets in your blood, it becomes a permanent part of who you are.” American also plans to celebrate National AMT Day on May 24 to honor its more than 8,700 mechanics.
