Aloha Air Cargo Gets Into Mx Business

Honolulu, Hawaii-based Aloha Air Cargo has launched a new division dedicated to airframe/engine maintenance and repair. Aloha Tech Ops will supply maintenance for its parent company, as well as third-party carriers. The unit has already inked a deal to provide maintenance for Alaska Airlines’ fleet of Boeing 737s in Hawaii, starting in February 2010. Under another agreement, WestJet Airlines will receive support from Aloha Tech Ops, which plans to hire around a dozen 737 mechanics.
