ATA Addresses Congress
The Air Transport Association (ATA) testified before Congress that airlines are extremely carbon efficient and will continue to reduce emissions. According to ATA president and CEO, James C. May, the commercial aviation sector contributes about two percent to U.S. greenhouse gas emissions, but also drives $3.4 billion into the economy daily. May added that the industry continues to strive to combat the deadly emissions and has improved fuel efficiency by 35 percent since 2001. For Related News
