Delta Air Lines plans to begin calling 700 maintenance employees back to work next month as it continues to ramp up both its own international flying and contract work for other carriers. The carrier also said it will keep its maintenance division in-house after considering whether to sell it. The announcement Monday comes as the Atlanta airline battles an unsolicited takeover bid by US Airways. US Airways went public last week with a roughly $8.7 billion offer for Delta after the airline's management rebuffed earlier private offers.
