Comtek Advanced Structures will exhibit at Farnborough for the first time. Comtek specializes in advanced composites applications for the international aerospace and defense markets. With facilities in Burlington, Ontario, Canada and Phoenix, Arizona, the company provides maintenance services and proprietary spare parts for airlines worldwide. At the show, the company will emphasize its “Smart Flow” process for building aerospace-quality structural parts using resin infusion. Now going into production on the Airbus A380 program, Smart Flow is a cost-effective method of manufacturing parts without relying on expensive autoclave processing. As part of its head-to-head competition with Boeing, Airbus will display its A380 MSN001 aircraft at the show. The A380, powered by Rolls-Royce Trent 900 engines, are taking part in flying displays every day over the skies of Farnborough.
