Chromalloy Wins USAF Repair Contract
The U.S. Air Force has chosen Chromalloy to provide high-pressure turbine (HPT) nozzle repairs in support of its F108 gas turbine engine overhaul program for the KC135R tanker. The agreement, worth $3.3 million, calls for work on the KC135R fleet at Tinker Air Force Base for a period of approximately six months. Chromalloy also supplies nozzles, replacement blades and vanes for the CFM56-2 engine, which is the commercial variant of the F108.
