Diamond Aircraft conducted the first flight of its D-Jet with a new Williams FJ33-5A engine on Oct. 5 from its facility in London, Ontario. Using serial number 003, Chief Test Pilot Daniel Riberio and Flight Test Engineer Gerard Struthers conducted a 1.4-hour flight with the higher-thrust engine. Originally powered by the FJ33-15, s/n 003 first flew in April 2008 and was modified to include the new engine and fairings, as well as other changes, including aerodynamic adjustments and installation of winglets.
