Employees of Hawker Beechcraft Corp. (HBC) who are members of a machinists union began a strike today after rejecting the company’s contract offer on Saturday. District Lodge 70 of the Intl Association of Machinist and Aerospace Workers in Wichita, Kan. represents around 5,200 HBC workers in the state. The contract involved a total of more than 4,000 employees. A total of 89 percent voted in favor of striking.
