"We introduced the OEMRO concept last year. Putting those two together gives our customers a unique package," said Steve Finger, president Pratt & Whitney in a briefing at the Paris Air Show. "OEM capabilities benefit MRO customers and OEM customers benefit from our MRO capabilities." Finger also stated the company's commitment to supporting their customers and to green initiatives. "We have 7,000 people in Europe and are among the top 20 companies in aerospace in the region," he said, adding that its CFM overhaul division in Norway, a company they purchased approximately seven years ago has been brought up to their level of maintenance detail using a quality program called Achieving Competitive Excellence. "Every time an aircraft leaves the Norway engine facility, that aircraft saves 160 metric tons per year per aircraft," he said. Finger went on to say that the aftermarket now comprises 50 percent of its business.
