Tool Crib
CompuCrib Automates Parts Storage
ShelfPlus Automated Storage Concepts has combined CompuCrib automated parts storage with CribMaster software. This combination achieves efficiency, security, and accuracy in MRO parts management. There is no need to wait for crib personnel to locate and retrieve the parts because this combination allows for instant access to parts through a password-secured interface. A video monitoring system records each retrieval transaction with employee number, parts retrieved, time, and date.
This product could reduce the need for crib attendants, saving money in the form of payroll, while at the same time tightening inventory control. The software automates the replenishment process by communicating directly with suppliers. The CompuCrib itself tracks lot numbers, expiration dates, and gage calibration. There is an optional module that can be added to allow work order issuance and obtaining required inventory needed to complete a task with a single bar-code scan. 3M's Versatile Wiring Tester
The 3M 900AST is quickly becoming the electrical systems tester of choice for avionics and maintenance technicians. The compact 900AST combines testing capabilities of a variety of test boxes in one small tough package that is easy to use for locating shorts, opens, and intermittent problems in wiring.
Internal help menus and a graphical user interface make using the AC and DC 900AST an intuitive process. Testing capabilities include: load test to measure current through a simulated #327 lamp; conductor and insulation resistance without the need to deactivate power thanks to foreign voltage compenstation capability; extended-period resistance measurement to isolate moisture- or corrosion-induced faults; distance location to a resistive fault (in inches); built-in self-calibration; and many other useful features.
"Solving wiring problems has always been a labor-intensive task," said a 3M statement, "which doesn't fit in an industry where saving time is crucial. We developed the 900AST because our customers asked for a solution that would allow them to quickly locate and repair faults and return their aircraft to service."

Barrier Bags Protect Equipment
A team of engineers has designed and manufactured a line of flexible protective packaging that can cover and protect products of all shapes and sizes. These moisture barrier bags protect equipment, machinery, tools, engines, etc., from all types of moisture including humidity and vapor. There are several moisture barrier materials to choose from such as Mylar, Tyvek, vinyl, and composites, depending on the needs of the customer. Some materials have high puncture and tear resistance, anti-static qualities, and vapor/corrosion inhibitors. These barrier bags are certified to protect corrosion sensitive and high value items such as engines, generators, and bearings.
