MOTORIZED TIRE STORAGE BY STANLEY VIDMAR

The new Stanley Vidmar motorized tire carousel is designed to help make aviation and automotive maintenance facilities cleaner, more efficient and safer by eliminating the stacks of tires. The storage system utilizes a building’s usually-wasted vertical space. The Carousel can neatly store more than 100 tires in a footprint as small as 50 sq. ft. The process of storing and retrieving those tires is easier and safer, since the machine does the heavy lifting. The task of taking inventory is simplified by being able to rotate tires to within view. The Carousel’s vertical structure is similar to the motorized racks that are used to store rolls of carpet and flooring in home centers, but it has been modified with horizontal carrier frames designed to hold tires. Operation is simple: when the operator pushes a button at the base of the structure, a one-horsepower electric motor engages a chain drive that rotates the carriers like the seats in a Ferris wheel. The operator can stop the desired carrier at floor level, then lift the front restraining bar and roll any tire off. The carousel comes in several sizes, ranging in height from 12 to 29 feet, and in width from 12 and 15 feet. Capacity ranges from 105 to 315 tires, weighing up to 13,000 pounds. It includes a one-year parts and labor warranty. Stanley Vidmar, 1-800-523-9462, www.stanleyvidmar.com.

ONE-STEP TIRE DETAILER GETS A SHINE ON

A new, one-step tire detailer from Eagle One makes tire detailing a breeze and provides a great shine. Tire Detailer, featuring a gel formula, achieves a high-gloss, long-lasting shine and only takes minutes to apply. Just squeeze the ergonomically-shaped bottle to saturate the foam applicator with the gel formula and apply directly to the tires — no more spraying and rubbing, no more rags to throw away. The contoured shape of the Tire Detailer applicator ensures an even application on any size tire with no messy hands or dripping. It will dress up to 40 tires, making it as economical as it is effective. Product is available at leading automotive parts retailers. Suggested retail is $6.99. WATERJET-CUT STEEL REDUCES DEFORMATION

Waterjet-cut AQ 4130 and AQ 4340 steel available from Benedict Miller features close-tolerance cut parts that exhibit performance and aesthetic characteristics that permit fabricators to eliminate time, cost, material handling and material waste. The heat-free waterjet cutting process creates no thermal stress and yields materials with little or no deformation, tempering or structural change. Benedict Miller offers ready-to-use materials that feature smooth-walled, completely parallel cut edges containing no burrs and requiring no sanding. Waterjet cutting reduces time, material handling, and eliminates employee safety concerns relative to airborne contaminants and sharp edge handling that is required during finishing operations on traditional steel-cut or laser-cut materials.
