About People

Danny Martinez, former American Airlines vice president of line maintenance, is the new VP and general manager for AAR Aircraft Services at Indianapolis Intl Airport (IND). He takes over from Stan Mayer, who has become general manager of AAR’s facility in Oklahoma City. At American, Martinez oversaw all line maintenance operations for domestic and international routes, as well as the airline’s maintenance operations center.

Ameco Beijing has promoted Hu Yuliang (left) to general manager. He replaces Chai Weixi, who is the new general manager of Air China Technics. Yuliang was previously general manager of the Chengdu maintenance base for Air China Technics.

Crane Aerospace & Electronics has hired Michael Romito as president of its aerospace group. He is responsible for sites in Burbank, Calif., Elyria, Ohio and Lynnwood, Wash., as well as Lyon, France. Romito comes from Alliant Techsystems, where he served as a consultant.

StandardAero has appointed Jack Lawless president of its Associated Air Center (AAC) subsidiary in Dallas, Texas. He will continue his duties as COO of Tempe, Ariz.-based StandardAero. Lawless was formerly executive vice president of global supply chain for DAE Manufacturing & Engineering.

Tucson, Ariz.-based Universal Avionics has named Matt Cowan U.S. southeast region marketing manager. He will be based in Tampa, Fla. Cowan previously held regional sales positions at Cirrus Aircraft and Avidyne.

London-based Airclaims Ltd. has hired Paul Jenkins, Simon Martin, Ian Cox and James Rust. Jenkins, who comes from XL Airways, will serve as technical services engineer for Airclaims. Martin is surveyor/project manager. Cox, who was previously a powerplant manager for British Airways, will hold the same title with Airclaims. Rust will serve as a technician.
