Gulfstream has appointed Mark Burns to succeed Larry Flynn as president of its Product Support organization. Flynn, who started working for Gulfstream in 1995, will be promoted to senior VP of marketing and sales, replacing Raynor Reavis, who is retiring. Burns, who will also be president of product support for General Dynamics Aviation Services, was formerly VP of customer support for Gulfstream Product Support (see interview with Mark Burns, page 34). In a separate announcement, Gulfstream has promoted Kurtina Pollen to customer communications manager, product support. She was previously IT business partner for product support.
Rockwell Collins has promoted Greg Irmen to replace Denny Helgeson as VP and general manager for its Business and Regional Systems division. A 33-year employee of the company, Helgeson plans to retire this fall. Irmen was formerly senior director, Boeing programs for Rockwell Collins.
St. Louis, Mo.-based JetCorp Technical Services has named Danny Farnham VP, modifications/refurbishment. He comes from Midcoast Aviation, where he was VP of completions/modifications in Cahokia, Ill.
Jet Aviation has named Michael Ruecker senior VP and general manager of its maintenance facility and FBO in Dubai, UAE. He formerly worked on special projects for EMEA & Asia, and has served as interim director of maintenance.
Robert Kunze, shift supervisor for the John D. Odegard School of Aerospace Sciences at the University of North Dakota, has received the General Aviation Technician of the year award from FAA. Kunze has also been designated the North Dakota Professional Aviation Mechanics’ Association mechanic of the year. Kunze has more than 29 years of experience as an aircraft maintenance tech.
Standard Aero has hired Scott Taylor as business aviation business development leader for its location in Tempe, Ariz. He was previously manager of sales and marketing operations for Honeywell Aerospace.
