David L. Joyce has been named vice president of GEAE Commercial Engines Operation and an officer of General Electric Company. He succeeds Charles "Chuck" Chadwell, who is retiring after 37 years of service. Joyce most recently led the team that captured GE’s ARJ program win in China, certified the CF34-8 Growth series engines, and tested GE’s first CF34-10 engine. Replacing Joyce as general manager of Small Commercial Engine Operations is Charles "Chip" Blankenship, who most recently was general manager of customer technology programs in GE Engine Services.

Art Taylor has joined Corporate Rotable & Supply as a technical sales representative on the CRS A3579-000 STC replacement generator for Lear 35/36/55 aircraft based in the Columbus, Ohio area at a CRS satellite facility. Taylor spent 23 years as a U.S. Air Force aircraft electrical technician and 10 years at Learjet-Tucson as an electrical technician and shift supervisor, where he specialized in the Lear 35 and 55 aircraft generating system and helped write maintenance procedures.

Goodrich Corporation has appointed Ron Frederick president of its Turbo Machinery Products division in Chandler, Arizona. He previously served as president of Garrett Aviation Services.

Richard L. Beers, an airframe and powerplant mechanic for Geisinger Medical Center’s Life Flight program, managed by Keystone Helicopter, has been awarded the Helicopter Association International’s 2002 Aviation Maintenance Technician Award.

Mooney Airplane Company has named Charles Somerville manager for the Mooney service parts division and the service center. Dan Apel has joined the company as an engineer, having been relocated from parent Mooney Aerospace Group's Long Beach, California facility, which has been shut down. Doug Crenwelge has been promoted to supervisor for Mooney's finishing division, and David Tatsch to machine shop supervisor. Penny Mall is the new safety and environmental administrator.

James R. Heath has been appointed director of APU and component repair programs for International Turbine Service. He is to lead development of the company’s APU product lines and component repair businesses. Previously, Heath was director of sales for Pratt & Whitney Canada engines at Dallas Airmotive.
