Tool Crib

Precision Torquing by Docutorq

Applying torque is accomplished regularly in the maintenance world and is critical to many procedures. Correctly applied torque can mean the difference between safe and unsafe operations.

The Docutorq System by CDI Torque Products is a new state-of-the-art way to ensure torque is correctly set. The system is comprised of two main units, the computer control station and the torque wrench. Using Bluetooth RF technology, the two units communicate through a wireless interface. The wireless technology allows it to be used up to 120 feet from the base.

There are no cables or manual re-programming of the tool when the torque setting is changed. Torque settings are automatically sent to the wrench tool at the start of each job. The wrench applies and validates the correct amount of torque with each use. The system software tracks the torque applied and stores the information for retrieval as needed ensuring accountability. Compact Torch by Weldcraft

Weldcraft has introduced a compact water-cooled micro TIG welding torch, the MT-125. The torch is ideal for work on limited access joints or for those who prefer a smaller torch size for ergonomic reasons. The MT-125 features a low profile nozzle that can fit into 5/8-inch diameter holes. For greater torch maneuverability it includes 2-, 3.5-, and 5-inch body length options and has 45-, 90-, or 180-degree head configurations. The torch is rated at 100 percent duty cycle up to 125 amps. Optional high amperage quartz nozzles can boost capacity to 160 amps. The MT-125 requires only one liter of water per minute at a minimum pressure of 40 psi or 1.2 liters of water per minute at a maximum pressure of 50 psi. Weldcraft, www.weldcraft.com, 920-882-6800.
