Apph Acquires Cap
APPH announced that it has acquired Commercial Aircraft Products (CAP). CAP, based in Wichita, designs and manufactures hydraulic system components, electro-mechanical positioning systems and access mechanisms for a wide-range of business aviation aircraft and light jet programs. Other recent North American acquisitions include Arnoni Aviation Services Inc. of Houston, Tex. and Airight Inc. of Wichita, Kan.
CAE Conducts Falcon 7X Maintenance Course
CAE SimuFlite began maintenance training on the Dassault Falcon 7X. The initial maintenance-training course was conducted November 27 – December 22, 2006 at CAE SimuFlite in Dallas, ahead of aircraft certification and entry-into-service. The Falcon 7X maintenance training will also start at CAE’s new training centers in Morristown, N.J. and in Burgess Hill near London, UK in February. CAE is the only Dassault Authorized Training Provider (DAPT) for maintenance training on the Falcon 7X, 900EX EASy and the 2000EX EASy aircraft.
Dassault’s Falcon 7X Sets Record Sales Year
Dassault announced record results for the second consecutive year for Falcon business jets. A total of 158 firm orders were received worldwide in 2006, including a $1.1 billion U.S. order from Net Jets Europe for 24 Falcon 7X tri-jets, the largest order ever for business jets in Europe. The Dassault Aviation 2006 sales were 3.3 billion Euros with Falcon business jets accounting for 62 percent of total consolidated sales. Growth was also particularly strong in Brazil, India and the Middle East. At the end of 2006, Dassault had a total backlog of more than 300 aircraft and more than 80 aircraft will be delivered in 2007. Delivery rates will continue to increase in 2008. The next available delivery position is in the second half of 2011.
Worthington Selects Quantum Control
Worthington Jet Services, a subsidiary of aftermarket parts supplier Worthington Aviation, recently selected Component Control’s Quantum Control aviation Enterprise Resource Planning software to manage its 145-repair facility and hangar operations based at Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport, where they perform maintenance for SAAB, Westwind, and other aircraft. Quantum Control combines aircraft services, hangar management, shop floor control, inventory management, accounting, e-commerce, sales and invoicing, and other business functions in an updatable software suite.
