TrueNorth Avionics, Inc., has added two sales managers to its staff, Pat Gordon and Jay Faria. Gordon, formerly of Bendix/King, AlliedSignal, Edmo and Sandel, will serve as national sales manager for the central U.S., while Faria will hold a similar post for the southeastern U.S., Latin America and the Caribbean.

Avtrak has announced that Dan Carroll has accepted a position as regional sales manager for the northeast United States and Canada. Carroll was previously with CAMP.

West Star Aviation has named Dave Krogman general manager of its Grand Junction, Colo. (GJT) facility. Krogman will replace Rick Brainard, who vacated the position to become West Star Aviation’s new vice president of sales. Krogman will oversee all day-to-day operational activities at the full-service aircraft maintenance facility and FBO.

In addition, West Star has hired Keith Rash as one of nine regional sales managers. Rash will be responsible for the Texas sales territory. Prior to accepting the position at West Star Aviation, Rash held positions with Wing Aviation and BizJet of Tulsa, Okla.

The Eastern Pennsylvania Business Journal awarded Stanley Engineered Storage Solutions President and General Manager Jim Cannon with its Executive Spotlight Award in October. Under Cannon’s leadership, Vidmar’s revenue has increased by more than 100 percent.

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University announced the establishment of a Center of Excellence as part of its College of Engineering. The center will be devoted to advanced research in aeronautics and propulsion systems. Embry-Riddle is part of a consortium of four universities — Florida State University, University of Central Florida, and University of Florida — that was awarded a three-year $14.5 million grant in July to establish the Florida Center for Advanced Aero-Propulsion (FCAAP). Dr. Reda (Ray) Mankbadi, a professor of aerospace engineering for Embry-Riddle’s College of Engineering, has been tapped to direct the Center’s research programs and coordinate its work with FSU and other university partners and researchers.
