Retired Rear Adm. Fred Byus, U.S. Navy, joined Battelle as vice president, Navy and special operations market sector.

The Air Transport Association of America (ATA), announced the election of Northwest Airlines Corp. President and CEO Douglas M. Steenland to chairman of the ATA Board of Directors.

Mooney Airplane Company appointed Keith S. Vasey to the position of Mooney team representative for the upper midwestern United States.

Derco Aerospace, Inc. announced the appointment of Mark Hoehnen to president. For the past five years Hoehnen held the position of EVP and GM.

Clifford Gunsallus, VP of engineering for the helicopters division of Kaman Aerospace Corp., was selected chairman of the board of directors of the Center for Rotorcraft Innovation, Inc., a consortium of industry and academia that conducts collaborative pre-competitive research and development with the U.S. government.

Wing Aviation announced that Keith Wright joined the aircraft maintenance team as chief inspector.

M7 Aerospace named Thomas Boyle to the position of director — information technology, with responsibility for the company’s computerized communication networks and information systems.
