New Color Choices for Waterloo Tool Boxes

Waterloo Industries has introduced an expanded line of colors for its tool storage lines, TRAXX and PROMAX. Waterloo is offering three color choices, Baltic Sea Black, Crimson Red, and Iron Blue. TRAXX units are designed for high-volume, heavy use with features such as full-extension ball-bearing slides on all drawers, a latching system to prevent accidental opening, a lock, and heavy-duty casters with hubcaps. PROMAX has full-extension ball-bearing slides on all drawers, a divided top tray, and casters as well. "They are backed by one of the best warranties in the industry," said Gary Marcus, vice president of marketing and new business development. Stanley Proto Introduces Bolt Extractor Sockets

Removing rusted, rounded, or otherwise imperfect nuts and bolts can be a challenge. There may be no way to get a grip with a conventional wrench or socket. And the alternatives of grinding down the fastener's rounded edges to provide a grippable surface, or drilling into its surface so that it can be removed with a screw extractor, are time consuming. The Stanley Proto Bolt Extractor Socket lets users grab and remove a damaged fastener. The Bolt Extractor Socket's interior surface consists of 18 to 30 (depending on tool size) spiral threads. "Threading" the tool counter-clockwise onto a damaged fastener causes the threads to make a tight grip on the fastener's surface. The tool's low profile will slip into tight spaces, while a through-hole design lets users access fasteners at the end of long bolts or studs. Use either a box, open end, ratcheting or socket wrench to turn the tool and extract the nut or bolt. The Bolt Extractor is available in sizes ranging from 1/4" to 5/8" and from 7 mm to 16 mm. Each socket can turn multiple fastener sizes. Stanley Proto, 800-800-TOOL, 770- 787-3800, www.stanleyproto.com

Gen Fam Manuals Available from Aircraft Technical Book

Aircraft Technical Book Company has introduced general familiarization manuals for a number of aircraft including the McDonnell Douglas MD-80 series and Boeing 747 Classic, 747-400, and 757. The manuals are study guides describing each system including component locations within the airframe, its function, a schematic of parts, and other notes relating to component operation, inspection, and maintenance. A general overview of each system is given with general operating methods, using text, drawings, and photographs. The manuals were designed for initial training of new hires and for technicians preparing for job interviews at companies working on these aircraft. The company plans to have several other aircraft familiarization manuals available soon, including the Boeing 737, Airbus A319/320, and the McDonnell Douglas DC-8. The manuals run from $95 to $155. Organize with Plasti-Bilt Storage

Frick Gallagher, a subsidiary of Durham Manufacturing, has introduced the Plasti-Bilt series of storage units. The high impact polystyrene shelf bins/drawers for the storage and organization of small parts are available in 6 different sizes ranging from 5-3/4 inches wide by 11-3/4 inches deep by 3-1/8 inches high to 4-13/64 inches wide by 17-3/4 inches deep by 2-3/16 inches high. Crosswise dividers are provided, adjustable on 1 inch centers, to enable different parts to be stored in the same drawer. They are available in four pre-configured systems featuring the use of 22 gauge steel and are offered as standard 9, 10, 11, and 12 drawer models. Cases are furnished with mounting holes at the top and bottom corners for secure, modular stacking. Drawers have rear back stops to prevent accidental removal. Label holders at the front are provided for content identification. Cases are finished in durable gray powder coat. Drawers may also be purchased individually. Also available are a series of structural foam shelf bins/drawers for heavy duty parts storage. Thick, 5/16 inch wall construction allows them to be vertically stacked or used on shelves. Eight different configurations involving adjustable crosswise and lengthwise dividers are provided which permit parts and tools to be stored in the same bin/drawer. These units are not used in drawer cases. The Durham Manufacturing Company, 800-243-3774, www.durhammfg.com.

Visual Assurance of Safe Grounding

The Bond-Rite Remote wall-mounted monitoring and grounding clamp system continually verifies that a low-resistance ground connection is maintained in areas where potentially flammable materials are stored, handled, and transferred. The system has a variety of clamp designs that can be used with all common types of equipment. All models conform to the requirements of all U. S. and international static control codes of practice. The monitoring electronics are housed in a corrosion-resistant stainless steel enclosure mounted on a wall directly adjacent to the unit being monitored. A flashing green LED provides visual assurance of a dissipation path of less than 10 ohms. The system can be battery powered or line powered through a power supply unit mounted in a safe area as much as 350 feet away. Battery powered units are supplied with a quick-release mounting bracket allowing the entire unit to be removed from the hazardous area for battery charging.
