Bob Saia is Pratt & Whitney’s Vice President, Next Generation Product Family. Bob leads an interdisciplinary team that will demonstrate and bring to market the company's next generation of commercial engines including the Geared TurbofanTM engine. The Next Generation Product Family organization consolidates development efforts across Pratt & Whitney divisions for large business jets, regional jets and the next generation narrow-body aircraft.

He began his career with P&W in 1973, and has held increasingly responsible positions with assignments in Propulsion Systems Analysis, Program Management, and Marketing & Sales. Bob was in charge of the Pratt & Whitney office in Toulouse, France, for three years coordinating activities with Pratt & Whitney and Airbus.

Bob has also led Pratt & Whitney’s Propulsion System Analysis group which is responsible for all engine performance and operability data analysis. Most recently, Bob was responsible for leading the Pratt & Whitney part of the Engine Alliance’s GP7000 program from October 2000 through January 2006.

Bob holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Southeastern Massachusetts University and a master’s degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
