Bell Helicopter has received FAA certification for its 505 Jet Ranger X, the manufacturer said. This comes just over five months after the aircraft received type certification from Transport Canada.

“This is another significant milestone in our journey to market entry for the Bell 505,” said Mitch Snyder, Bell’s president and CEO. “This aircraft incorporates the latest advancements in safety and aviation technology and we are extremely proud of our return to the short light single class of helicopters.”

Featuring full authority digital engine control (FADEC), the Bell 505 has enhanced performance and reduced pilot workload, Bell said. It features a Garmin G1000H flight deck, with dual 10.4-inch displays. Upgrades options include synthetic vision, a helicopter terrain avoidance warning system and more.
