Helsinki-based cybersecurity provider F-Secure has acquired Italy-based Inverse Path, F-Secure says. This business move expands F-Secure’s avionics portfolio, as Inverse Path is one of a relatively small amount of firms specializing in avionics security.

“In the past 10 years, Inverse Path developed a unique set of security consulting skills. This has placed us at the forefront of security research and made us a leader in embedded system security for emerging sectors, such as automotive and avionics,” Andrea Barisani, founder of Inverse Path, says. “As combined companies, we can develop new capabilities to better serve our existing and future customers.”

Barisani is set to become an F-Secure cybersecurity consultant, where he would lead the Hardware Security division. In October 2016, Barisani was the keynote speaker for Airbus’ Aircraft Security User Panel.
