Northrop Grumman to Upgrade Electronics on Netherlands F-16s

[Avionics Magazine 12-12-2016] The Royal Netherlands Air Force (RNLAF) has awarded a contract to Northrop Grumman, to upgrade the AN/ALQ-131 electronic countermeasure (ECM) pods for its F-16 aircraft fleet. The upgrade includes new threat detection and jamming capabilities to allow aircraft to operate safely in the modern threat environment.

Under the upgrade, Northrop Grumman will add its fifth generation electronic warfare technology, the digital receiver/exiter, to the AN/ALQ-131.
