Iran Air to Make $16 Billion Boeing Airplane Purchase

[Avionics Magazine 12-12-2016] Iran Air has reached an agreement to buy 80 commercial airplanes worth $16.6 billion at current list prices, Boeing announced on Sunday, Dec. 11. The original memorandum of agreement between Iran Air and Boeing was reached in June. Boeing has been working with U.S. government officials to clear all license requirements necessary to move forward to reach the sales agreement.

The 80-aircraft order includes 50 Boeing 737 Max 8s, 15 777-300ERs and 15 777-9s. The first airplanes under this agreement are scheduled for delivery in 2018.
