[Avionics Magazine 11-01-2016] Embraer Executive Jets is now the manufacturer of the business jet with the longest warranty in the industry, the company said. The Brazilian company unveiled its Legacy 650E on Oct. 31, which is the newest version of the Legacy 650 large business jet. It has a 10-year or 10,000-flight hour warrant, with interior, exterior pain, engines, Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) and avionics warranties consistent with that of its predecessor.

The new jet also features automation and technology updates. Honeywell’s latest Primus Elite Advanced Features (PEAF) have been included in the flight deck, bringing a synthetic vision system (SVS), traffic collision avoidance system symbology and XM ground-based weather information, added to the moving map. Cockpit workload is also reduced in the Legacy 650E with the addition of autothrottle and the availability of two iPads with mounting systems.

With three distinct cabin zones, the Legacy 650E carries up to 14 passengers. It trumpets Internet connectivity and the latest high definition in-flight entertainment system with Honeywell’s Ovation Select entertainment and cabin management system. It has a range of 3,900 nautical miles with four passengers with NBAA Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) fuel reserves.
