[Avionics Magazine 10-28-2016] Honeywell’s Liquid Crystal Displays (LCDs) are now certified as single display replacements for older generation Cathode Ray Tube displays. The current certifications allow Dornier 328 and Embraer Legacy 600 business jet operators to upgrade their traditional displays with Honeywell’s newest technology, enabling access to the latest safety and efficiency cockpit technologies through simple software upgrades.

According to Honeywell, the biggest benefit for this authorization is that it allows Dornier 328 and Embraer Legacy 600 operators to replace their displays one at a time, rather than overhauling their entire cockpit.

The DU875 LCD also enables the option for operators to upgrade to Honeywell’s Primus Elite capabilities, such as SmartView Synthetic Vision, Traffic Collision Avoidance System (TCAS) and better weather information with XM aviation reports.

Honeywell is also working on additional cockpit display STCs for other aircraft types.
