[Avionics Today 09-22-2016] The FAA has approved Visonsafe’s Emergency Vision Assurance System (EVAS) for use on the Gulfstream G280 aircraft. The EVAS smoke protection system retrofits aircraft to meet current 25.9A FAA-recommended standards for maintaining cockpit smoke control. VisionSafe received the Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) and Parts Manufacturer Approval (PMA) earlier this month.

EVAS is currently available as an option on the Gulfstream G550 and G450, and will become available for G280 next month. It is standard equipment on the Gulfstream G650.
