[Avionics Today 08-02-2016] Astronics Ballard Technology has signed a collaboration agreement with NI in which NI will market and sell Ballard PXI avionics products through its global sales channel. NI’s sales channel includes sales teams in more than 40 countries, 700 field engineers and 35,000 customer accounts.

The Astronics Ballard Technology products NI will represent include the advanced OmniBus II avionics interface cards for use with PXI Express for MIL-STD-1553, ARINC 429, and multi-protocol.
Ballard also developed a new instrument driver for use with NI LabVIEW software and the NI LabVIEW real-time module. The driver provides an improved toolset for intuitive and efficient development of bus configurations and applications.

Ballard worked with NI to create a library of MIL-STD- 1553 and ARINC 429 examples that demonstrate the feature set of the Ballard interface to be used with PXI Express and reduce application development time.
