[Avionics Magazine 06-23-2016] TransDigm Group has completed the acquisition of ILC Holdings, parent company of Data Device Corp. (DDC), for a $1 billion cash purchase. TransDigm financed the acquisition with cash proceeds from the recently completed term loan and notes offerings. The acquisition of DDC was previously announced on May 24.

DDC is primarily a supplier of databus and power control related technologies used in military avionics applications. The company’s core MIL-STD-1553 databus product line has a large installed base of systems worldwide that spans hundreds of unique military and commercial platforms.

TransDigm estimates DDC revenues will be more than $200 million for fiscal year 2016, with 75 percent coming from the defense market and the remainder from commercial transportation.
