[Avionics Today 05-11-2016] Trans States Airlines has selected Universal Avionics UniLink Communications Management Unit (CMU) to provide datalink and Aircraft Communications and Reporting System (ACARS) capabilities to its Embraer ERJ 145 fleet. The CMU includes a custom customer database allowing the regional airline to choose the Flight Management System (FMS) Control Display Unit (CDU) page layouts and customize the content of downlinked and uplinked messages, which aims to expedite dispatch while improving the monitoring of operational performance.

Universal has delivered the equipment and installations are currently underway at Trans States’ Lambert–St. Louis International Airport (STL) facility. A total of 15 aircraft are receiving the installation, most of them operating in Trans States’ New York markets.
