[Avionics Today 04-13-2016] United Arab Emirates (UAE)-based Etihad Airways has selected Honeywell Aviaso’s software to measure the effectiveness of its existing fuel efficiency initiatives. The software provides post-flight analysis from a variety of the company’s data sources and Etihad Airways can also use it for EU emissions trading system reporting.

Honeywell Aviaso’s fuel efficiency software helps airlines manage fuel efficiency programs and current software users have recorded fuel savings of more than 2 percent a year, according to the company. The airline also plans to implement more fuel efficiency initiatives based on the analysis delivered by the software, which will support the carrier in discovering new areas for fuel savings.

Etihad has already begun implementing the software system on its flights and its partner airlines will likely begin to deploy the solution this year.
