Air Europa Adds Satellite-Powered Wi-Fi to Long Haul Fleet

[Avionics Today 03-14-2016] Air Europa is launching Wi-Fi In-Flight Connectivity (IFC) service on its fleet of long haul aircraft. The Wi-Fi service is supported by satellite coverage and the eXConnect system from Panasonic Avionics.

The aircraft that offer Wi-Fi on-board using Panasonic Avionics’ system, are two Airbus 330-200 and one A330-300, it is estimated that from the month of July the entire long haul fleet with have Wi-Fi service on board.

Progressively, Air Europa will install Wi-Fi via satellite on all of its long haul Airbus aircraft. The airline’s new Boeing 787 arriving this month will also have this service.
