GE Aviation Goes Digital

[Avionics Today 03-07-2016] GE Aviation is launching a digital organization designed to  support operations of its customers across the aviation ecosystem by leveraging data science, domain expertise and software capabilities to increase productivity and minimize down time. Jim Daily has been announced as the president and chief digital officer for engineering and technology for GE Aviation’s new digital organization.

“Over the past two years, we have shown the significant benefit that GE Aviation can provide customers by combining our depth of aviation product knowledge with the rapidly growing technologies around digital and analytics,” said David Joyce, president & CEO of GE Aviation. “We have only taken our first steps in this journey.”
 

In addition to bringing an enhanced digital capability to the 35,000 engines that GE Aviation monitors every day, GE and its customers are working together to unlock new opportunities to grow and deliver more productivity beyond traditional services.
