[Avionics Today 03-04-2016] Thomas Global Systems officially opened the company’s new Electronic and Embedded Systems Innovation Hub [EESI-Hub], a new center that will be the focus of Thomas Global’s internal Research and Development (R&D) and new product development initiatives. The new EESI-Hub facility is designed to optimize the conceptualization, development of concepts and integration of innovative applications in commercial aerospace and defense sectors.

The facility will provide a dedicated platform to develop embedded systems and next generation digital signal processing technology for the Australian aerospace company. Developments already in progress include symbolic generation of aircraft data streams for layered representation of future mandated cockpit display annunciations such as Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) and Required Navigation Performance (RNP), as well as Sunlight Readable Display (SRD) technology for application in outdoor operated environments such as Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) operator stations or ship bridge consoles and dashboards.
