[Avionics Today 02-18-2016] Honeywell Aerospace’s BendixKing division has begun shipping the next-generation BendixKing AeroWave 100, an Inmarsat Class 15 system that provides in-flight Internet access. Previously available only to business jets, the solution has expanded to enable connectivity for commercial and General Aviation (GA) pilots.

The system includes a new Active Low Gain Antenna (LGA) and optional Wi-Fi routers that look to simplify installation and provide voice or data connectivity for passengers and crew in commercial airlines. The system is also suitable to connect GA pilots to Internet-enabled weather services, flight planning tools and communication with flight dispatchers or Fixed-Base Operators (FBOs).
