Alaska Air Sees 10 Percent Yearly Bump in Traffic

[Avionics Today 01-06-2016] Alaska Air Group reported December 2015 and year-end operational results for Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air, which found a 9.9 percent increase in traffic on a 12.2 percent increase in capacity compared to December 2014. Load factor decreased 1.7 points to 83.3 percent.

Alaska Airlines reported a 9.8 percent increase in traffic on a 12.1 percent increase in capacity compared to December 2014. Load factor decreased 1.8 points to 83.6 percent. Alaska Airlines also reported 85.3 percent of its flights arrived on time in December, compared to the 80 percent reported in December 2014.

Meanwhile, Horizon Air reported a 0.5 percent decrease in traffic on a 0.9 percent increase in capacity compared to December 2014. Load factor decreased 1.1 points to 79.7 percent. Horizon also reported 66.6 percent of its flights arrived on time in December, compared to the 81.0 percent reported in December 2014.
