[Avionics Today 10-20-2015] Global Eagle Entertainment (GEE) has unveiled its new Network Operations Center (NOC), which continuously monitors and manages connectivity and content systems worldwide.

The new network operations center enables GEE to expand its network management capabilities to meet the fast-growing demand for In-Flight Entertainment and Connectivity (IFE&C) solutions aboard aircraft across the globe. The NOC is designed to manage and deliver the next generation of in-flight connectivity, which will require more satellite capacity and infrastructure to meet the needs of airlines and their nose-to-tail connected aircraft.

“GEE is providing inflight connectivity to nearly 700 connected aircraft and a broad range of entertainment content to more than 150 airlines around the world. Our new network operations center in Chicago enables GEE to monitor and manage current and next generation IFE&C solutions,” explained Aditya Chatterjee, senior vice president of connectivity systems and GEE chief technical officer.
