[Avionics Today 05-29-2015] Boeing has awarded Rockwell Collins a contract to provide avionics service and support for the Royal Canadian Air Force’s (RCAF) fleet of 15 CH-147F helicopters.

The Rockwell Collins Common Avionics Architecture System (CAAS) cockpit, which is featured on the CH-147F Chinook helicopter, was delivered by Boeing to the RCAF in 2013 and 2014. The system’s embedded mission computing resources and mission systems software aim to provide enhanced war fighting capabilities for the aviator.

The firm, fixed-price service contract takes effect immediately and runs through March 2018, according to the company. As part of the agreement, Rockwell Collins will provide local avionics support equipment and engineering services on behalf of Boeing to the RCAF 450 tactical helicopter squadron, located at Canadian Forces Garrison Petawawa.
