[Avionics Today 04-30-2015] L2 Consulting Services has received a Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) from the Japan Civil Aviation Bureau (JCAB) for the installation of the Iridium satellite communications system on Boeing 737-700 and 737-800 aircraft. L2 developed the engineering, produced the installation kits and managed the JCAB STC regulatory process to ensure a successful integration for the Japanese operator.

The NxtLink ICS-220A and IRT-2120 devices are a comprehensive communications system that provides the flight crew with a dedicated Data Link channel to support the Aircraft Communications and Reporting System (ACARS), Future Air Navigation System (FANS) messaging, Controller-Pilot Data Link Communications (CPDLC) and an exclusive global voice channel. L2 also holds existing Iridium certifications on Boeing 747, 757 and 767 aircraft.
