[Avionics Today 3-16-2015] GE Aviation has achieved Level 3 appraisal of the  Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI). CMMI is an industry standard for ensuring predictable, high quality software development for aviation industry applications.

The appraisal was accomplished over a two-week period, which included a review of more than 4,800 artifacts and 17 interviews, according to GE Aviation.

“Achieving this milestone reflects the unparalleled commitment by GE Aviation to delivering aviation software which meets the highest levels of performance, quality, and continuous improvement," said Jim Daily, president, Engineering & Technology Systems for GE Aviation. “This appraisal is unique in that it is not isolated to select projects or products, but instead represents all software developed and delivered by GE Aviation.”
