[Avionics Today 03-11-2015] Loong Airlines, based in China’s Zhejiang Province, has selected Thales Avionics Topflight Flight Management System (FMS) to equip their fleet of 30 Airbus A320s, scheduled for delivery between 2015 and 2018. Loong Air has also decided to retrofit their four existing A320 aircraft with the Thales FMS.

The TopFlight FMS offers an FMS Landing System (FLS), “see what you fly” capability and supports Required Navigation Performance (RNP) 0.1 operations as well as Performance-Based Navigation (PBN).

In compliance with Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) regulations, Loong Air will also equip their aircraft with Thales Head Up Display (HUD) systems, which are fully integrated with the existing cockpit architecture and provide essential flight data and information in the pilot’s forward field of view during all phases of flight.
