[Avionics Today 02-26-2015] Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) and remote sensing provider PrecisionHawk has formed a new partnership with Canadian agricultural coaching organization Agri-Trend. Under the new partnership, PrecisionHawk’s data collection, sensing and analysis tools will be offered to farmers throughout the U.S. and Canada through the Agri-Trend SkyScout program.

During the first phase of the partnership, PrecisionHawk’s DataMapper will be integrated into Agri-Trend’s Agri-Data Solution Platform, allowing farmers to aggregate and analyze data coming from a multitude of sources in order to make better decisions more quickly and efficiently. PrecisionHawk and Agri-Trend want to provide farmers with a solution that integrates orders, delivery and processing from a range of UAS platforms by 2016.

“The partnership includes a number of important firsts around the intersection of agriculture and drone technology,” said PrecisionHawk CEO Christopher Dean. “As the first large-scale, agricultural drone program roll-out in North America, aerial data will be seamlessly captured by PrecisionHawk systems and transformed into meaningful data products inside the Agri-Data system for application by the end grower.”
