[Avionics Today 02-18-2015] India-based airline IndiGo has selected Rockwell Collins’ avionics systems, including its MultiScan ThreatTrack weather radar, Multi-Mode Receiver (MMR), and full suite of avionics sensors, for its Airbus A320neo fleet. Deliveries for the first 30 confirmed orders are set to begin later this year.

“This agreement is significant because India is a key growth region for Rockwell Collins,” said Jim Walker, vice president and managing director of International and Service Solutions for the Asia Pacific for Rockwell Collins. Walker believes the system will provide the airline with updated weather decision-making and navigation tools.

The GLU-925 MMR also enables GPS position and availability requirements for upcoming Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast Out (ADS-B Out) mandates.
